Out of the Rubble
A Concert for Freedom from Torture
On January 25, 2025, the beautiful setting of St Anne’s Church in Lewes will host Out of the Rubble, a poignant evening of music and words in aid of the charity Freedom from Torture. This inspiring event features the renowned tenor Mark Padmore and pianist Nancy Cooley, joined by other esteemed musicians and performers.
Among the highlights of the program is a performance of my piano solo piece, Rubble of the Houses, brought to life by the gifted British composer and pianist Julian Broughton. This work, deeply personal to me, resonates with the concert’s themes of resilience, humanity, and hope.
Freedom from Torture provides crucial support to survivors of torture, offering therapy and advocacy to help individuals rebuild their lives. The concert seeks to raise awareness and funds for this vital cause while offering a space for reflection and solidarity through the power of art.
I am honored to contribute to this meaningful event and invite you to join us for an unforgettable evening.
