“Sahab Museum Theme”

This piece was composed as a sonic layer to complement the immersive experience of the Sahab Museum, a virtual institution by the Hawaf Collective that reimagines Gaza’s cultural heritage in a digital “cloud.” The museum’s conceptual focus on memory, imagination, and the potential of a brighter future deeply informed the composition.

Drawing inspiration from the architectural essence of Gaza’s old town and the collective’s ethos of sedimentation and fluidity, the music blends traditional motifs with contemporary elements. It seeks to evoke both the resilience and the dreams of a community envisioning a liberated space for its history and future.

Presented during the Clandestino Festival (July 2024), the composition forms part of the collective’s effort to preserve and expand Gaza’s cultural narratives through art and technology. This collaboration with Hawaf Collective is a tribute to the boundless imagination and enduring spirit of Gaza.
